Toronto part II

After nearly three weeks in T-dot, we had our first sold out house tonight. Our last saturday night, and tomorrow is our last show in Toronto. It's going to be hard to sleep tonight, because we usually stay up until 3am at least, but tomorrow we have a matinee.... and a supposedly important one because a reviewer from Canada's top newspaper will be coming to see the show! kevin called the dance reviewer at The Globe and Mail 20 times, and she finally got back to him.

After a discouraging couple of weeks of low attendance, the word is finally spreading, and there are glimmers of excitement. A wealthy family who runs a foundation for the arts attends, and rumors are they liked the show. A journalist or 2 makes it in, and pre-sale ticket levels increase. Starting to take off, maybe?

We leave for London directly after the show tomorrow, so we won't find out this time around. But a positive review would be a substantial step in the right direction.

Otherwise, life is full and engaging and satisfying. We are lazy during the day, and but we work a bit fine-tuning and improving the show everyday, and we get energized just long enough for our hour of high-octane performance, then we crash, eat together, play silly games, take street cars, stay up late and fall asleep to do it all again the next day.

I'm going to miss these guys like limbs! We've definitely become a bit of a family. A decently functioning one, no less.
